Notes

Clever Carla is a short play by Robert Scotellaro, set in Palermo, Italy. The story revolves around a poor farmer and his intelligent, hardworking daughter Carla. One day, the farmer goes to sell grains at the market, asking Carla to wish him luck so he can return home with pockets filled with money. Meanwhile, a greedy merchant tries to cheat the farmer by offering a deal that sounds appealing but ultimately leads to the farmer losing his wagon, horse, and grains.
